Commonwealth Opera names new Executive Director

Joseph Summer, composer, founder, and Executive Director of The Shakespeare Concerts, has been named Executive Director of Commonwealth Opera. With this appointment comes a new mission statement:

"Commonwealth Opera will produce opera, of the highest caliber, to a diverse audience in New England. Our aesthetic direction is dictated by the vision of the composers and librettists who created the work we present."

So Many Journeys Released by Albany Records

With the release of Joseph Summer's third recording So Many Journeys by Albany Records comes a Sonata for Violoncello, two of Summer's twenty six Shakespeare sonnets set to music, and excerpts from his full length opera Hamlet.
